On Monday May 28th 2018 possibly the greatest Cumann na mBunscol Football Final of all time was played. Balla NS and Knockrooskey met in the 2B Championship Final and a match of epic proportions ensued.
Although Balla were up by a point at half-time Knockroosky were always close and at full-time the sides were level. Two five-minute periods of extra-time were played and again the sides were level. It was agreed that two more five-minute periods of extra-time would be played. With a minute to go Knockroosky went a goal up but Balla heads didn't go down. From the kick-off they moved the ball up the pitch and buried the ball in the back of the net. And the final whistle went, again!
After some discussion it was decided that these two great teams were inseparable and the trophy was shared.
Those who were there will never forget this match!
